Invisalign aligners are clear, removable custom appliances fabricated using the latest CAD/CAM technology. Once we have analyzed where we would like to move the teeth, we transmit that information to Invisalign where a series of these appliances is fabricated.
Each aligner will move the teeth a small, precise amount. Patients will typically wear each aligner for two weeks, at which time they will move to the next aligner in the series.
Because the aligners are clear and removable, Invisalign offers several advantages over traditional metal orthodontics:
Cosmetics: All patients appreciate that many of their friends don't notice they are having orthodontic treatment provided due to the clear material used in the aligner.
Comfort : The aligners do not cut and chap the lips, cheeks and tongue the way metal bands and brackets can.
Care : Because you remove the aligners to eat and clean your mouth, you are able to maintain your oral hygiene much more easily while being treated with Invisalign.
Speed : Due to the computer-aided analysis and design of the aligners, as well as the ability to precisely control all the forces moving the teeth, we generally see Invisalign treatment take approximately half the time of traditonal metal orthodontics to produce the same result. Most cases take less than 12 months to accomplish!
